Best Morocco Tour Companies: An Honest Comparison

This comparison is published by a site that sells one company's tours, so read it with that in mind. We are one of the five companies listed. We have kept to facts each company publishes about itself, and we say plainly when another company would suit you better than us.

Who wrote this and how to read it

Morocco Tours HQ wrote this page, and our tours are run by Best Morocco Travel, a family company in Marrakech. That makes us a participant, not a referee. We have not ranked anyone, and we have not given other companies scores or star ratings, because we have never travelled with them and cannot judge their service.

What we can do is set out what each company says on its own website: where it is run from, whether its tours are private or shared, and what it publishes about price. Those three facts narrow the choice faster than any ranking. Each company name in the table links to the page we took the information from, checked in October 2026.

The four types of Morocco tour company

Most Morocco tour companies fall into one of four types, and the type decides the price and the feel of the trip more than the brand does.

  • Local private operators. Based in Morocco, usually in Marrakech or Fes. They own or hire the vehicles and employ the drivers. You deal with the people who run the trip, and prices tend to be lower because there is no agent in between. Best Morocco Travel is this type.
  • Foreign-run private specialists. Owned or managed from the US or UK, selling private tours of Morocco. You get a sales team in your own time zone and consumer habits you recognise. Experience It Tours and Authentic Morocco are this type.
  • Small-group adventure companies. International companies with fixed departure dates, a trip leader and a group of fellow travellers. Wilderness Travel is this type.
  • Marketplace shared tours. Budget minibus tours sold through booking platforms, mostly 2 to 4 day desert trips from Marrakech or Fes. Shared 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga tours are listed from roughly $95 to $180 per person.

Five Morocco tour companies side by side

The table lists the five companies in no order of merit. Prices are shown in the currency each company uses, and the inclusions are not identical, so use the figures to understand the market and not as a like-for-like test.

What each company does well, and who it suits better than us

Best Morocco Travel

Best Morocco Travel is the company behind every tour on this site. It describes itself as a Berber family business with 25 years in Moroccan tourism, led by Hassan and based in Marrakech. All its tours are private, with your own air-conditioned vehicle and an English- or Spanish-speaking driver. Its TripAdvisor listing showed a 5.0 rating from 102 reviews and a Travellers' Choice 2026 award when we checked in October 2026. See our reviews page.

It suits you less well if you want a company registered in your home country, a fixed group departure, or a shared budget tour. It does not run any of those. Full prices are on our Morocco tour cost page.

Experience It Tours

Experience It Tours is a US-run company selling private tours, and it publishes a sample pricing page that breaks prices down by hotel level. That openness is rare and useful. Its 14-day tours are listed at $4,845 to $8,895 per person. It suits you better than us if you would rather deal with a US-run business. It does not suit a short trip: the company says it no longer offers tours of 5 days or less.

Authentic Morocco

Authentic Morocco is British-owned and sells private luxury tours. It gives a per-day guide price of about US$180 to US$450 per person, which lets you estimate any trip length quickly. It suits you better than us if a British-owned company matters to you, or if you want the whole trip pitched at the luxury end from the start.

Wilderness Travel

Wilderness Travel is a US small-group adventure company. Its Morocco trips run on fixed dates with a trip leader, from $7,395 for 13 days, and it also lists a private journey of 9 days from $5,595. It suits you better than us if you are travelling alone and want companions, or if you like the structure of a set departure. It costs more than a locally run private tour of similar length.

Luxury Tours Morocco

Luxury Tours Morocco is based in Marrakech and focuses on private luxury tours. Every tour on its site shows price on request, so you need to enquire to compare it with anyone else. It may suit you if luxury is the main requirement and a published starting price is not important to you.

How to choose between a local and a foreign-run company

Choose on the point that worries you most: price and directness favour a local operator, while familiarity favours a foreign-run one. Neither is safer by default.

A local operator tends to offer

  • Lower prices for the same route, because no agent sits in between
  • Short tours of 3 to 5 days, which larger companies often do not sell
  • Direct contact by WhatsApp with the people running the trip
  • Routes that are reshaped to your dates and pace

A foreign-run company tends to offer

  • A sales team in your own country and time zone
  • Contracts and payment methods you already know
  • Prices in your own currency
  • Group departures, in the case of adventure companies

If you are deciding between travelling privately or joining others, read private vs group tours in Morocco first. That choice changes the price more than the choice of company.

A checklist for vetting any Morocco tour company

Use the same nine checks on every company, including us. A good operator answers all of them in writing without fuss.

  1. Who runs the tour on the ground. Ask for the name of the company that supplies the vehicle and driver. Some sellers are agents.
  2. A physical address and a phone number. Check that both exist and that someone answers.
  3. How the business is registered and insured. Ask directly. We do not publish a licence number on this site, so put the same question to us.
  4. Recent independent reviews. Read the newest ones on a platform the company does not control, and look at how complaints were answered.
  5. Private or shared. Confirm in writing that nobody else joins your vehicle, if that is what you are paying for.
  6. Named hotels and the desert camp. Star levels mean little. Ask for names and look them up.
  7. A written list of inclusions. Meals, guided city days, entrance fees, airport transfers and the camel ride should each be stated as in or out.
  8. Per person or per group. Check which the price is, and for how many travellers.
  9. Payment and cancellation terms. Get the deposit, balance date and refund terms in writing before you pay anything.

Questions people ask

Which is the best tour company in Morocco?

No company is best for every traveller. Decide first whether you want a private tour or a group departure, and a local or foreign-run company. Then compare two or three companies of that type on route, named hotels and price.

Is it cheaper to book a Morocco tour with a local company?

Usually, yes. A local operator sells its own tours without an agent in between. As a guide, our private 10-day tours cost €2,900 to €5,500 per person, while Experience It Tours publishes $3,515 to $6,545 per person for 10 days. The currencies and inclusions differ, so compare quotes line by line.

Is it safe to book directly with a Moroccan tour company?

It can be, if you check the company first. Look for a real address, recent independent reviews, a written itinerary with named hotels, and clear payment terms. See also our guide to whether Morocco is safe.

Why do so few Morocco tour companies publish prices?

Private tours are priced by group size, hotel level and route, so many companies prefer to quote case by case. Some do publish ranges, including us, Experience It Tours and Authentic Morocco.

Are you one of the companies in this comparison?

Yes. Morocco Tours HQ is the planning and booking site for Best Morocco Travel, which appears in the table. We have used only facts that each company publishes about itself and have not rated the others.

Which Morocco tour company is best for solo travellers?

A solo traveller who wants company should look at a small-group departure such as those run by Wilderness Travel, or a shared desert tour on a tight budget. A private tour works for solo travellers too, but one person carries the full cost of the vehicle and driver.
